This specimen was lot 20424 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "FRANCE. Ecu, 1738-&. Aix Mint. Louis XV (1715-74). NGC MS-63. Dav-1330; KM-486.27; Gad-321; Dr/5-746; Dupl-1675. Bright and lustrous, yet struck on a heavily adjusted planchet from significantly aged dies that show evidence of clashing and variance in field texture. Tied with one other example at NGC for the finest graded at either NGC or PCGS."
est. m. 822,298, common date.
