This specimen was lot 1327 in Jean Elsen sale 141 (Brussels, June 2019), where it sold for €550 (about US$729 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"FRANCE, Royaume, Louis XIV (1643-1715), AV louis d'or aux huit L et aux insignes, 1701L, Bayonne. 3e réformation. D/ T. laurée à d., les cheveux courts. R/ Croix formée de huit L couronnés, brochant sur un sceptre et une main de justice. Dupl-1443A; Gad-253. 6,71 g. Très Beau. (kingdom of France, Louis XIV, 1643-1715, gold louis of the eight "L's" and insignia of 1701, Bayonne mint, third reformation. Obverse: laureate head right with short hair; reverse: cross formed of eight "L's" over a scepter and the hand of justice. Very Fine.)"
