This specimen was lot 753 in Jean Elsen sale 123 (Brussels, December 2014), where it sold for €800 (about US$1,163 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"FRANCE, Royaume, Henri III (1574-1589), AV écu d'or au soleil, 1587 E, Tours. Au titre de roi de Pologne. Droit: Ecu de France couronné, sous un soleil. La légende débutant en haut. Revers: Croix fleurdelisée, un quadrilobe en coeur. Dupl., 1121; Ciani-1410; Laf., 960. 3,51 g. Rare. Léger défaut de flan à d. de l'écu. Très Beau à Superbe. (kingdom of France, Henry III (1574-89), gold écu d'or of the sun of 1587, Tours mint, with the title of king of Poland. Obverse: crowned arms of France below a sunburst. The legend begins at the top. Reverse: floriate cross with the mintmark in a quadrilobe. Rare, light planchet defect at the base of the shield, very fine to extremely fine.)"
