This specimen was lot 1002 in Jean Elsen sale 124 (Brussels, March 2015), where it sold for €__ (about US$__ including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"FRANCE, Napoléon Ier (1804-1814), AV 40 francs, an 14 U (sur 13), Turin. Seulement 1.199 p. frappées. Gad-1081; Fr-482. Très Rare. Coups sur la tranche. presque Très Beau. (France, Napoleon I (1804-14), gold forty francs of the year 14, Turin mint. Only 1,199 pieces struck. Rare, rim nicks, about very fine.)"
