This specimen was lot 30770 in Heritage sale 3064 (Chicago, April 2018), where it sold for $2,880. The catalog description[1] noted, "Louis XV gold Louis d'or 1718-Q MS61 PCGS, Perpignan mint, Fr-453, Gad-336. A Mint State example from the lesser-seen mint of Perpignan, with haymarking observed throughout the golden-umber flan and some strike softness noted at the centers. In total, an eye-appealing selection in a state of preservation that remains rather impressive."
