The catalog description[1] noted, "Louis XVI Mint Error 12 Sols 1785-A XF/AU, Gad-353, KM568.1. Also valued as 1/10 Ecu. Paris, (A), mint. Legend mistakenly reads "Lud XV". Listed as R3 in Gadoury. Extremely attractive as well."
