This specimen was lot 20438 in Stack's Bowers ANA Auction (Denver, CO, August 2017), where it sold for $5,875. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. Crown of the Rose, ND (ca. 1526-44). Henry VIII (1509-47). PCGS AU-58 Secure Holder. S-2273; Fr-163. Second coinage, 1526-1544 while Henry was married to his first wife, Katherine of Aragon. Rose mintmark (Tower mint). Bold strike on a nice round flan displaying full legends on both sides. Lightly toned with soft satin luster and quite attractive."

struck of 23 karat gold, valued at 5 shillings. Henry divorced Catherine in 1535.
