This specimen was lot 2446 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2017), where it sold for $940. The catalog description[1] noted, "Shilling, ND (1561-71). Elizabeth I (1558-1603). NGC EF-45. S-2592; N-2023. Milled coinage issue, small size, about 29 mm in diameter. A well struck example of this first milled issue of Britain with decorated dress showing its multiple patterns and individual strands of hair standing out with attractive dark toning which deepens towards the edge with traces of iridescent. From the Dr. Michael Popoff Collection."
