This specimen was lot 40135 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2019), where it sold for $1,860. The catalog description[1] noted, "ECUADOR. Sucre, 1997. PCGS PROOF-69 DEEP CAMEO. Fr-12; KM-111. Struck for the 70th Anniversary of the establishment of the Central Bank with a mintage of 2,000 pieces. Boldly cameoed with a sprinkling of light tone over both sides. Highly popular as a type due to the illustration of an 1833 Ecuadorian Escudo in the reverse centers."
KM 111, 31.10 g, .900 fine gold, 40 mm diameter, m. 2,000 proofs.
