This specimen was lot 1404 in Classical Numismatic Group's sale of the Lissner Collection (Chicago, August 2014), where it sold for $1,452. The catalog description[1] noted, "CHILE, Republic. 1818-present. AV 5 Pesos. Santiago mint. Dated 1870 So. In NGC encapsulation graded MS 63. Choice brilliant uncirculated. Very choice for type and very rare in this grade with only one in MS 64 being higher for the type. Purchased from Lou Collins, July 1979."

KM 144; Y 21; Friedberg 46. 7.62 g, .900 fine gold, this specimen 22 mm, 7.64 g, 6h axis. mtg 13,000, type struck 1867-73; last at this weight.
