This specimen was lot 30543 in Heritage sale 3064 (Chicago, April 2018), where it sold for $2,100. The catalog description[1] noted, "George VI 50 Cents 1938 MS65 ICCS, Royal Canadian mint, KM 36. An already incredibly difficult date to encounter in mint state, this year is even more elusive in a gem grade such as this. Hints of cobalt, goldenrod, and seafoam green highlight the palette, while blistering argent surfaces strengthen the charm and appeal. Without a doubt, a true condition rarity with endless eye-appeal."
