This specimen was lot 30421 in Heritage sale 3029 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $3,055. The catalog description[1] noted, "Province Du. Bas Canada Deux Sous copper Penny Token 1837, Bank of Montreal, Charlton LC9D2 (period after CANADA), Br-521, MS65 Red and Brown NGC. A near-flawless strike with significant remaining mint-red luster. The surfaces are free of notable contact marks and the only imperfections are minor spots that detract little from the pleasing overall appearance. A superior example of the type."
