This specimen was lot 4180 in Ponterio sale (New York, January 2012), where it sold for €2,950. The catalog description[1] noted, "COSTA RICA. Banco Internacional de Costa Rica. 5 Colones, 9.10.1918. P-171. A rare large size design from Costa Rica which exhibits President A. Gonzales Flores at center. Seen with provisional stamping on reverse and mostly problem free for the grade, save for a few pinholes at the upper left."
