This note was lot 6439 in Ponterio sale 151 (Baltimore, November 2009), where it sold for $1092.50. The catalog description noted, "COSTA RICA. 2 Colones, 22.12.1932. P-167. This lovely piece is one high on many collectors want lists even if Costa Rica is not a desired country by them. The fantastic design is shown well with this example with even circulation and nice color throughout. VERY FINE."

P-195c. A simply stunning example of this popular large size design which shows with radiant inks throughout and lovely original paper. Well centered and surely among the finest available."

Banco Internacional de Costa Rica. 5 Colones, 9.10.1918. P-171. A rare large size design from Costa Rica which exhibits President A. Gonzales Flores at center. Seen with provisional stamping on reverse and mostly problem free for the grade, save for a few pinholes at the upper left."

This specimen was lot 4181 in Ponterio sale 164 (New York, January 2012), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "COSTA RICA. Banco Internacional de Costa Rica. 10 Colones, 9.10.1918. P-172. The next denomination from the series with this lovely 10 Colones note showing great color and detail. Evenly circulated with just enough paper strength remaining for a VF grade. Seen without the pinholes that accompanied the previous lot."

This specimen was lot 1074 in Stack's Bowers 2017 NYINC sale (New York, January 2017), where it sold for $705. The catalog description[1] noted, "COSTA RICA. Banco Internacional De Costa Rica. 10 Colones, 1935. P-181. Choice Fine. Another scarce Costa Rican note, this one being in issued form. Toning and staining is seen, but that is to be expected in this grade. This piece still retains its pertinent detail and displays pleasing eye appeal."
