This specimen was lot 20579 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2019), where it sold for $1,380. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Bremen. Taler, 1660-TI. PCGS AU-55 Gold Shield. Dav-5107; KM-132.2. Mintage: 3,942. A RARE type that is absolutely perfect for the assigned grade, featuring old cabinet-toned surfaces that contain intermingled shades of green and gold on both sides. Magnified inspection only heightens ones admiration of this piece, with significant luster appearing beneath the tone and a refreshing dearth of contact marks. A bold strike, just short of complete, rounds out the exceptional appeal. Worthy of a strong bid to secure this elusive Taler. From the Linda Collection."
