This specimen was lot 288 in Künker sale 293 (Osnabruck, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €300 (about US$404 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRANDENBURG IN FRANKEN. Christian Friedrich Karl Alexander, 1757-1791. Konv.-Taler 1779, Bayreuth. Mit Stempelschneidersignatur W (Georg Heinrich Werner) am Armabschnitt sowie den Signaturen E - D (Johann Christian Eberhardt und Johann Gottfried Ambros Dietel) auf der Rückseite. Dav-2020; Slg. Wilm. 1104 var; Slg. Grüber (Auktion Künker 267) 4789. Sehr schön +. (margraviate of Brandenburg-Bayreuth, Christian Frederick Charles Alexander, 1757-91, convention thaler of 1779, Bayreuth mint, with engraver's initial's W and ED on the reverse. Very fine or better.)"
