This specimen was lot 29362 in Heritage sale 3042 (Long Beach, September 2015), where it sold for $1,997.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Republic gold 8 Escudos 1845 PTS-R AU55 NGC, Potosi mint, KM108.2, Onza-1592. Well preserved with limited high-point wear defining the grade, partial underlying luster and generally few noticeable contact marks, as expected for the designation. A better date for this scarce type, seldom seen in higher preservation, and very desirable in this quality. One of only two specimens currently certified by NGC for the date."
