This specimen was lot 45999 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2026), where it sold for $216. The catalog description[1] noted, "FIJI. Penny, 1968. Elizabeth II. PCGS MS-65. Off-center 2nd hole punch error." This specimen was issued by the Fiji Islands in 1954-68. Sterling coinage was issued for the islands starting in 1934. World War Two issues were extensively saved by military personnel stationed there and those are the dates most commonly seen today. Proofs exist of some dates but are rare. Decimal conversion occurred in 1967-69, the same time as Britain. Fiji left the British Commonwealth in 1987 but rejoined in 1997. This coin is the last of its denomination.
