This specimen was lot 77012 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2025), where it sold for $105. The catalog description[1] noted, "ETHIOPIA. Gersh, EE 1895-A (1903). Paris Mint. Menelik II. PCGS MS-65." One birr (piastre) was twenty gersh (qirsh). This type was struck at Paris in EE 1889, 1891 and 1895. The Ethiopian Era is eight years behind Common Era dating. This date far outnumbers the others by virtue of being restruck in 1903-28.
