This specimen was lot 46360 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Oklahoma City, OK, August 2025), where it sold for $105. The catalog description[1] noted, "ESTONIA. 3 Marka, 1926. NGC AU-55." Estonia, long occupied by Czarist Russia, obtained its independence in the aftermath of World War One. Reoccupied by the Russians in 1940, she was subject to Soviet rule until 1991, when the collapse of the Communists allowed the Estonians to once again reclaim independence. This one year type must have melted as it is now quite scarce.
Recorded mintage: 902,870, of which Numista says only 350,000 were released for circulation.
Specification: 3.4 g, nickel brass, 20 mm diameter.
Catalog reference: KM-6.
