El Salvador 1984 5 centavos rev DSLR.jpg

This specimen was struck for El Salvador by the Royal Mint of London, which also struck other Salvadoran coinage of the seventies. Paradoxically, this coin has such a low catalog value that it is difficult to find. Dealers do not find it worthwhile to stock such items. This coin bears the portrait of Francisco Morazan, hero of the struggle for independence from Guatemala.

Recorded mintage: 15,000,000.

Specification: nickel plated steel, 5 g, 23 mm diameter.

Catalog reference: KM 149a.
