This specimen was lot 1618 in Stephen Album sale 30 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2018), where it sold for $199.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "EGYPT: Fuad, 1922-1936, 5 milliemes, 1935-H/AH1354, PCGS Specimen pop-7/14 total 27, PCGS graded Specimen 64, ex King's Norton Mint Collection." The Kingdom of Egypt was established in 1922, with Fuad I as the first ruler. He had previously been sultan (1917-1922) when Egypt was a British protectorate. During his reign, Egyptian coinage was changed significantly from previous issues, with the portrait of the leader decorating the obverse. Previously, no human portraits appeared on coins.

The coin pictured is a copper-nickel five milliemes. The portrait of Fuad I is on the obverse, with the year reverse (both Hijra and Gregorian dates shown), denomination, and 'Kingdom of Egypt' written in Arabic. Date is 1935 AD - AH 1354. Mintmark for the Heaton Mint, England (H) appears at right reverse.
