Sedwick sale 11, lot 1185

The specimen shown was lot 1186 in Sedwick sale 11 (Winter Park, FL, April 2011), where it sold for $126.50. The catalog description[1] noted,

"Ecuador (struck in England), 1 sucre, 1892-HEATON / BIRMINGHAM. Deeply old-toned XF with obverse rim-bruise, impressive purple-blue color."

This six year type is from the Heaton mint. The Lima mint won the contract for the rest of the coinage, striking sucres, dos decimos and decimos in 1892.

Recorded mintage: 60,000.

Specification: 25 g, 0.900 fine silver, this specimen 25.0 grams.
