Sedwick Treasure Auction 35, part of lot 1293

This specimen was part of lot 1293 in Sedwick Treasure Auction 35 (Winter Park, FL, May 2024), where it sold for $3,600. The catalog description[1] noted, "DOMINICAN REPUBLIC, thirteen-coin set of gold 10 pesos, 2000, colonial churches, all in NGC slabs, MS 67 DPL or 68 DPL. KM-110 to 122. Complete series of small gold coins (each 3.136 grams of .9999 gold, total actual gold weight for the set therefore 1.31 oz troy) in deep-mirror proof, issued in 2000 to commemorate all the colonial-era churches in the Dominican Republic, as follows (in KM order): Santo Domingo Cathedral (Santa María de la Encarnación), MS 67; Banica Church, MS 67; Boya Church, MS 68; Nuestra Señora del Carmen, MS 68; Señora del Rosario Church, MS 67; Santa Barbara Church, MS 67; Santa Cruz de El Seibo, MS 68; San Lázaro Church, MS 68; San Miguel Church, MS 68; Regina Angelorum Church, MS 67; Sanctuary at Higüey, MS 67; Chapel of the Remedios, MS 68; and Chapel of San Andrés, MS 68." These designs were also used on a series of silver ten pesos (KM 91 thru 109).

Recorded mintage: 2,000 proofs.

Specification: 3.136 g, 0.999 fine gold, 16 mm diameter, 0.100 troy oz AGW.
