This specimen was lot 10390 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €105 (about US$110). The catalog description[1] noted, "DENMARK. Rigsbankskilling, 1842-VS. Copenhagen Mint. Christian VIII. NGC Unc Details--Cleaned. Beautiful coin with sharp details and original bright luster. From the L. E. Bruun Collection." This type was struck 1842 only at Copenhagen and Altona. Other copper coins included 1/5, half and two rigsbankskilling and three, four, 16 and 32 rigsbankskilling in billon. The initials VS stood for Georg Wilhelm Svendsen, mintmaster at Copenhagen 1831-1861.
