Danzig 1698 ducat Fr-41
This specimen was lot 1349 in Sincona sale 76 (Zürich, May 2022), where it sold for 22,000 CHF (about US$26,704 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"POLEN | Danzig, Stadt. Dukat 1698. Mit Titel Augusts II. (Friedrich August I. von Sachsen, 1697-1733). Sehr selten. Vorzüglich-FDC. NGC MS62. Prachtvolle Erhaltung. (Poland, city of Danzig, ducat of 1698, struck in the name of Augustus II. Very rare, Extremely fine-uncirculated, Magnificent condition.)"
Two different ducats exist for this date along with a double ducat. The other, KM 84, features a smaller bust of the king and a continuous legend. Both are rare.
