Danzig 1658-DL 1/4 thaler
This specimen was lot 1881 in Jean Elsen sale 165 (Brussels, June 2026), where it sold for €160 (about US$220 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"POLOGNE, Jean Casimir (1649-1668), AR Orte, 1658 D-L (sur 1657), Danzig. D/ B. couronné à d. R/ Armes de Danzig tenues par deux lions. Rare. Griffes au droit. Beau. (Poland, John Casimir, 1649-68, silver ort of 1658, Danzig mint, 1658/7 overdate. Obverse: crowned bust right; reverse: arms of Danzig supported by two lions. Rare, obverse scratches, Fine.)"
This type was struck 1652, 1655-66 and is listed as common in grades up thru Very Fine. The "18" on the reverse refers to the coin's value in groszy.
