Künker sale 293, lot 2129

This specimen was lot 2129 in Künker sale 293 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €7,000 (about US$9,435 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"POLEN, DANZIG, Stadt. 1/2 Reichstaler 1640, mit Titel Wladislaws IV. (1632-1648). Von großer Seltenheit. Feine Patina, kl. Schürfstelle, winz. Schrötlingsfehler, sehr schön-vorzüglich. (Poland, city of Danzig, half thaler of 1640, struck in the name of Vladislaus IV (1632-48). Very rare, fine patina, edge defects, very fine to extremely fine.)"

This type is listed for 1639-41 and 1646 and is accompanied by a thaler (Dav-4356). It is not priced in the SCWC above Fine.
