Danzig 1628-SB ducat Fr-10
This specimen was lot 2182 in Künker sale 439 (Osnabrück, March 2026), where it sold for €26,000 (about US$35,768 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"POLEN, DANZIG Stadt. Dukat 1628, mit Titel Sigismunds III. (1587-1632). + MONE · AVREA · CIVI · GEDANENSIS · 1628 : Zwei Löwen halten das mit Lorbeerzweigen verzierte Stadtwappen, unten die Signatur S - B (Stanislaw Berman, Münzmeister in Danzig 1618-1635)// · SIGIS : III · D : G : REX · POL : M : D : L · R · PR · Gekröntes und geharnischtes Brustbild Sigismunds III. r. mit umgelegtem Mantel und Ordenskette. In US-Plastikholder der PCGS mit der Bewertung AU 58 (39580981). GOLD. Von großer Seltenheit. Vorzüglich. Exemplar der Auktion Fritz Rudolf Künker 350, Osnabrück 2021, Nr. 97. This type was struck with several subtypes 1588-1632. Its long run of production make it among the more available Polish ducats. This subtype is listed for 1614, 1619-31.
