This specimen was lot 42516 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Oklahoma City, OK, August 2025), where it sold for $19,200. The catalog description[1] noted, "Rare and Beautiful Danzig Ducat from Sigismund III. POLAND. Danzig. Ducat, "96" (1596). Danzig Mint. Sigismund III. PCGS MS-62. An exemplary specimen that is finest graded example of the type and date holdered by PCGS or NGC, out of a total of 4 graded specimens. The surfaces alight with bright luster, and the details are sharp and well impressed across the flan. A piece that couples beauty and RARITY, and as such, a specimen that will doubtlessly excite." This type was struck with several subtypes 1585-1632. Its long run of production make it among the more available Polish ducats. Altho the SCWC does not so state, all the early issues have two digit dates.
