Künker sale 336, lot 6267

This specimen was lot 6267 in Künker sale 336 (Osnabrück, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €2,800 (about US$3,664 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"TSCHECHIEN, TSCHECHOSLOWAKEI, Republik. Dukat 1980, Kremnitz. 600. Todestag von Karl IV. Historisches Porträt Karls IV. 3,44 g Feingold. Fr-22; Schl. - (vgl. 83). GOLD. Stempelglanz. (people's republic of Czechoslovakia, ducat of 1980, 600th anniversary of the death of Charles IV. Uncirculated.)"

This type was struck 1978-82 in the waning days of the communist regime, which collapsed in 1989-90. The SCWC includes this with its Unusual World Coins.

Recorded mintage: 10,000 proofs.

Specification: 3.49 g, 0.986 fine gold, 0.110 troy oz AGW.
