This specimen was lot 1980 in Sincona sale 90 (Zürich, May 2024), where it sold for 80,000 CHF (about US$105,712 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"TSCHECHOSLOWAKEI Republik, 1918-1939, 5 Sokol 1920, Kremnitz. Probe in Silber. Stempel von O. Spaniel. Äusserst selten. NGC MS62. (republic of Czechoslovakia, 1918-39, silver pattern five sokols of 1920, Kremnitz mint, dies by O. Spaniel. Extremely rare, graded NGC MS-62.)"
Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk, first president of Czechoslovakia, is featured on this unadopted pattern from 1920. When coinage commenced in 1920-21, haleru and korun inherited from Austria-Hungary were used. This bust later appeared on a 20 korun commemorating Masaryk's daeth in 1937.
