1915 peso
The chaos of the Revolution led to recurring currency shortages is various regions as normal trade was blocked. The central authorities (i.e., Carranza) would generally refuse to permit the issue of local currency. To get around this, banks or businesses (in this case, the bank of Montreal and the Cia de Real del Monte y Pachuca) would print checks which were intended to circulate until the crisis passed. This series from February-June 1915 is known in denominations from one peso to twenty pesos, of which this is the only one that is common.
