1914 five pesos

The first specimen shown is a five pesos note issued in 1914 by the Banco de Guanajuato. Issued notes dated 1901-1914 exist along with a scarce "IRAPUATO" overprint. The second specimen, M358, was printed in Mexico after Huerta permitted the banks to issue notes without bullion backing.

The first specimen shown is a ten pesos note issued in 1914 by the Banco de Guanajuato. Issued notes dated 1900-1914 exist along with a scarce "IRAPUATO" overprint. A later type, M359, was printed in Mexico after Huerta permitted the banks to issue notes without bullion backing.

The specimen shown is a twenty pesos note issued in 1912 by the Banco de Guanajuato. Issued notes dated 1900-14 exist along with a scarce "IRAPUATO" overprint. Additional denominations include one, two, ten, fifty, one hundred, five hundred and one thousand pesos. The two and five pesos are the most common.

Catalog reference: Frampton M352c. All notes are 184 x 82 mm and printed by the American Bank Note Co., with the exception of M358, which was printed locally.
