1878 twenty-five centavos
This specimen was issued in 1878 by "El Banco Mejicano". It is fairly common and several printings exist. In 1888, the bank title was changed to "El Banco Mexicano" from "El Banco Mejicano."

This specimen was sold in Heritage sale 3514 (Long Beach, CA, September 2011) for $94. The catalog description noted, "Mexico El Banco Mexicano 25 Centavos 1888 A comparison with the back plate note in the Frampton reference leads to the conclusion that this is it. Very Fine." Frampton, et al., note that this type was issued in 1888 only. It is only readily available issue of this bank. In 1888, the bank title was changed to "El Banco Mexicano" from "El Banco Mejicano."

This specimen was issued in 1878 by "El Banco Mejicano". It is rather scarce and several printings exist. In 1888, the bank title was changed to "El Banco Mexicano" from "El Banco Mejicano."

1878 one peso
This specimen was sold in Heritage sale 3508 (Orlando, FL, January 2010) for $287.50. The catalog description noted, "Mexico 1 Peso El Banco Mejicano 1878. This rarity lists for $400 in Fine in the Krause reference. Fine." Frampton, et al., note two series of this note of which this is the first. It is rare. In 1888, the bank title was changed to "El Banco Mexicano."
