Currency of Taiwan
This specimen was part of lot 2544 in Sincona sale 69 (Zürich, May 2021), which did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,
"BANKNOTEN | China | Republic of China - Taiwan. Bank of Taiwan (under Japanese Influence). 1 Yen ND (1915). 5 Yen ND (1914). Pick 1921, 1922. SM #T70-20, T70-21. VI + -II / . 1 Yen: Minimal geglättet. (Currency of China, Bank of Taiwan (under Japanese Influence), undated one yen and five yen. Good and about extremely fine. The one yen has been ironed.)"
This specimen was lot 2549 in Sincona sale 69 (Zürich, May 2021), where it sold for 120 CHF (about US$159 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BANKNOTEN | China | Republic of China - Taiwan. Bank of Taiwan (Chinese Administration). 10 Yuan 1949. Pick 1954. SM #T73-15. Selten / . IV / . (Currency of China, Bank of Taiwan (Chinese Administration), ten yuan of 1949. Rare, Fine.)"
