This specimen was lot 5655 in Ponterio sale 152 (New York, January 2010), where it did not sell. The catalog description noted, "PARAGUAY. Banco Del Paraguay Y Rio De La Plata. 1 Peso - 25 Centavos, 20.12.1889. P-S171. Being listed in the SCWPM as Rare we will expect great attention from collectors for this piece. The note is made from a rather crude printing process by Compania Sud/Americana de Billetes de Banco. A few minor margin tears are observed along with some spot stains towards the left center. Even with the few problems the note still shows nice signatures and appeal for grade. VERY GOOD."
