This specimen was lot 728 in Sedwick Treasure Auction 35 (Winter Park, FL, May 2024), where it sold for $360. The catalog description[1] noted, "JAMAICA, 10 shillings, George VI, 1-11-1940, serial C/10 58532, PMG Choice VF 35 (S.S. Politician Shipwreck). The S.S. Politician shipwreck is known for two things: whisky and Jamaican banknotes. This is the first "Whisky Galore" banknote we have offered at auction. Nicely centered and bold example with just minor post-sinking handling for the grade. Recovered from: S.S. Politician, sunk in 1941 off the Outer Hebrides, north of Scotland."
Recorded mintage: unknown.
