This specimen was lot 5010 in Ponterio sale 152 (New York, January 2010), where it did not sell. The catalog description noted, "ANGOLA. 5 Angolares, 1.1.1947. P-77s. This fantastically bright Waterlow and Sons specimen is a perfect interpretation of the design. UNCIRCULATED."
This specimen was lot 5012 in Ponterio sale 152 (New York, January 2010), where it sold for $2,530. The catalog description noted, "ANGOLA. 20 Angolares, 1.3.1951. P-83. A stunning Uncirculated note which is not typically seen this nice. The note shows deep inks which illuminate the design nicely. This piece also bears the serial number 114TM00001 which will surely p(ique) interest for this design. UNCIRCULATED."
