This brass twenty pesos was struck in Santiago, Chile, for Costa Rica in 2003 and 2005. Subsequent issues were brass plated steel. Currently (April 2025), US$1 = 508 colones, down from a peak of 690 colones in July 2022.

Recorded mintage: 10,000,000.

Specification: 11 g, aluminum nickel bronze, 33 mm diameter.
