This specimen exemplifies the dreadful state of modern coin design. The drab, low relief design, accentuated by the dull material, failed to inspire any but the most devoted collectors of Central American coins. This type was struck 1984-94 and is accompanied by five, ten, twenty-five, fifty and one hundred colones issues.

Recorded mintage: unknown but common.

Specification: Stainless steel.

Catalog reference: KM 210.2.
