This specimen was part of lot 27082 in Heritage sale 3022 (New York, January 2013), which sold for $940. The catalog description[2] noted, "Republic Lot of Twenty 10 Centimos Coins, Most are early 20th century examples. Many are mint state. Some scarce issues here. Sold as is, no return lot. The Cecil Webster Collection of Costa Rica." This type was struck in Philadelphia 1905, 1910, 1912 and 1914; the 1905 is the most common. The colon was introduced in 1897 and reformed in 1917 and 1920.

Recorded mintage: 400,000.

Specification: 2 g, 0.900 fine silver, .058 troy oz ASW, reeded edge, 18 mm diameter.
