This specimen was lot 23143 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it sold for $1,080. The catalog description[1] noted, "INDIA. Cooch Behar. 1/2 Rupee, CB 354 (1864). PCGS AU-58 Secure Holder. Struck in silver. A deeply toned example of this highly elusive type." The SCWC notes this one year type as scarce. Two coins are listed for this ruler: a nazarana half rupee, shown here, and a nazarana mohur, KM 185. Cooch Behar is today in the strip of India which divides Bhutan from Bangladesh.
