This specimen was lot 71350 in Stack's Bowers Collector Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, October 2020), where it sold for $95. The catalog description[1] noted, "CONGO. 5 Makuta, 1967. Kings Norton Mint. PCGS SPECIMEN-64 Gold Shield. Extremely lustrous and radiant, just five have been graded finer than this near-Gem in the PCGS census. Ex: Kings Norton Mint Collection." This type was accompanied by ten sengis (KM 7) and one likuta (KM 8). It is worthless except in proof.
Recorded mintage: 2,470,000 plus proofs.
