This ten centavos was struck in Bogotá, Colombia, of a type issued 1954-66. This type, with the portrait of chief Calarca, superseded the silver coin featuring the hero Francisco de Santander. The date is very common. Chief Calarca appeared on various ten centavos until 1966. The following year Santander was restored to the ten centavos.
