Colombia 1942B 10 centavos rev DSLR.jpg

This ten centavos was struck in Bogotá for Colombia, of a type issued 1911-20 and 1934-42. This type, with the portrait of hero Simon Bolivar, superseded the liberty head type last struck in 1897. The date is common; the variety without the "B" mintmark on the reverse is scarce. When the production of ten centavos resumed in 1945, the fineness was lowered to .500 silver.

Recorded mintage: 3,140,000.

Specification: 2.5 g, 0.900 fine silver, .072 troy oz ASW.

Catalog reference: KM 196.1.
