This silver fifty centavos was struck 1906-08 for Colombia after the civil war of 1899-1903. (The chaos of that civil war enabled the United States to engineer Panamanian independence.) It is scarcer than the catalog indicates. When the fifty centavos resumed in 1912, Simon Bolivar's bust replaced the head of Libertad.
