Colombia 1882-M 20 centavos
This specimen was part of lot 44393 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), which sold for $156. The catalog description[1] noted, "COLOMBIA. A date run of nice quality 20 Centavos, all from Medellín but for the 1897. Each has been certified by PCGS. Included are 1882. AU-50; 1884. Restrepo 289.2. AU-50; 1885/74. Restrepo 289.3. EF-45; 1885. Restrepo 289.4. VF-35; 1897 Bogotá. Restrepo 385.1. MS-63. (Total: 5 pieces). From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian Coins." The Medellin mint produced two varieties of twenty centavos in 1882: KM 178.1, with "GRAM. 5" on reverse, struck 1875-77 and 1882 (shown here); and KM 178.3, "GRAMOS 5" on reverse, struck 1882-85.
