This specimen was lot 1781 in Goldberg sale 122 (Los Angeles, June 2021), where it sold for $750. The catalog description[1] noted, "China. 50 Yuan, 2006. Two pandas seated with bamboo. NGC graded MS-69." The Chinese government has, since the mid 1980's, produced a mind boggling array of bullion related collectibles. A complete set is thousands of types yet buyers clamor for more. Prior to 2001, the tenth ounce gold panda was denominated ten yuan.

Recorded mintage: 150,000.

Specification: 3.11 g, 0.999 fine gold, 18 mm diameter, 0.10 troy oz AGW.
