Chile 1881 2 centavos rev DSLR.jpg

This is a two centavos coin minted in Santiago, Chile, in 1878-94. It superseded a copper-nickel type struck 1870-77 (KM 147). It is a common date of a common type struck 1878-94 but nice examples are always worth a premium. Overdates abound for this series but the SCWC records none for this date.

Recorded mintage: 172,000.

Specification: bronze.

Catalog reference: KM 147a.
